Assessment-led treatment planning

Treatment in Ipswich

A clear treatment pathway built around assessment, suitability, informed consent and appropriate aftercare.

Treatment is only offered when the clinician considers it suitable. Urgent symptoms, suspicious lesions and concerns outside the clinic's scope require the appropriate medical pathway.

Not every mark should be lasered

Assessment comes before treatment

Laser treatment is intended for selected benign pigmentation concerns. If a mark is new, changing, irregular, sore, itchy, bleeding or crusting, contact your GP or an appropriate skin specialist for medical assessment rather than booking cosmetic laser treatment.

Dual wavelength

The SmartPICO platform combines 532 nm and 1064 nm wavelengths for pigment at different depths.

Consultation first

The mark, skin type, medical history and treatment goals are reviewed before treatment is recommended.

Patch test

A test area may be required so the skin response can be assessed before a full session.

Individual results

Response, number of sessions, recovery and risk of pigment change vary from person to person.

About SmartPICO

Assessment comes before treatment

The correct next step depends on the concern, clinical history, treatment area and realistic goals. The clinic explains whether treatment is suitable, what alternatives exist and what preparation or aftercare is required.

No treatment result can be guaranteed and a consultation does not create an obligation to proceed.

Assessment before treatment

The clinician examines the concern and reviews relevant history before discussing treatment. If the concern is uncertain or outside scope, referral may be the safest next step.

Treatment options are concern-specific

SmartPICO may be discussed for selected suitable pigmentation concerns. Skin lesions, warts or verrucas require their own assessment and treatment pathway rather than a one-size-fits-all plan.

Aftercare and review

Follow the written aftercare instructions and contact the clinic about unexpected reactions. Review arrangements depend on the treatment and response.

Questions

Treatment Ipswich FAQs

Can I book treatment without an assessment?

Suitability must be confirmed before treatment. Some services may also require a patch test or a separate consultation.

Is treatment always offered at the first visit?

Not necessarily. The clinic may need to assess the concern, complete a patch test, discuss alternatives or recommend referral before treatment is arranged.

When is the exact price confirmed?

The exact fee is confirmed after the treatment area, concern, likely plan and what is included have been assessed.

What happens if the clinic cannot treat my concern?

The clinician should explain the limitation and recommend an appropriate GP, specialist or alternative pathway when needed.

Ready to discuss your pigmentation concern?

Book a consultation to assess the mark, your skin and whether SmartPICO or another approach is appropriate.
